🔐 How to get access?

🟢 Adelaide University account holders

🟢 Non-University (external) users

If you already have an Adelaide University account:

Step 1: Log in to REDCap using Institutional Login

Step 2: Select Adelaide University as your organisation and use your AU account credentials to log in

Step 3: If you see the error "This user account has not yet been granted access to REDCap", submit a Service Hub request to enable access; otherwise, you can start using REDCap.

Step 4: To access an existing project, ask the REDCap project owner or supervisor to grant your account access.

If you do not have an Adelaide University account:

Step 1: Register for an account via the Adelaide University External Account sign-up

Step 2: Once your account is created, log in to the account portal, and then to REDCap via Institutional Login, select Adelaide University and sign in using the credentials created in step 1.

Step 3: If you see the error "This user account has not yet been granted access to REDCap", an Adelaide University REDCap project owner/supervisor must submit a Service Hub request on your behalf to enable REDCap access for your account.

Step 4: Finally, the REDCap Project owner/supervisor can grant this new account access to the project

❌ Do not submit a ServiceNow request to create a new account

Note:

  • If you have a project in UniSA REDCap, please continue to access these projects in UniSA REDCap with the AAF organisation: "University of  South Australia".
  • All existing University of Adelaide REDCap projects remain available. Users with a University of Adelaide account will continue to see and access their existing projects after logging in via Institutional (AAF) Login; users without a university account must follow the external user access process outlined above.

REDCap provides automated export procedures for seamless data downloads to Excel and common statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata, R), as well as a built-in project calendar, a scheduling module, ad hoc reporting tools, and advanced features, such as branching logic, file uploading, and calculated fields.

Learn more about REDCap by watching a brief summary video (4 min). If you would like to view other quick video tutorials of REDCap in action and an overview of its features, please see the Training Resources page.

NOTICE: If you are collecting data for the purposes of human subjects research, review and approval of the project is required by your Institutional Review Board.
